Clear photographs can significantly improve buyer confidence. Expensive equipment is not required, but the item must be visible and accurately represented.

Prepare the product

  • Clean the item before taking photographs.
  • Remove unrelated objects from the scene.
  • Arrange all included accessories together.
  • Use a simple background that contrasts with the item.

Use good lighting

  • Photograph near a window or in bright indirect light.
  • Avoid harsh shadows across the product.
  • Avoid dark rooms and strong coloured lighting.
  • Check that labels and details are readable.

Capture useful angles

  • Show the front, back and both sides.
  • Show controls, ports, labels and important features.
  • Photograph any defect clearly.
  • Include packaging and accessories where relevant.
