Write better product titles

Use clear product titles that help both buyers and search engines understand your item.

Seller AcademyUpdated 13 July 2026

The title is one of the first parts of your listing buyers see. It should identify the product without unnecessary words or misleading claims.

A useful title normally includes

  • Brand or manufacturer, where relevant.
  • Product name or model.
  • Important size, capacity or specification.
  • Condition, when it helps distinguish the item.

Good title examples

  • Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5-inch i5 16GB 256GB
  • Pampers Baby-Dry Size 4+ Nappies 76 Pack
  • 3-Litre Electric Fufu and Yam Pounder 1500W

Avoid

  • Writing the entire title in capital letters.
  • Repeating the same keyword many times.
  • Adding unrelated brands.
  • Using claims such as best or cheapest without evidence.
  • Adding phone numbers to the product title.
