Verify your phone number

Learn why phone verification matters and how to keep your seller contact number accurate.

Seller AcademyUpdated 13 July 2026

A verified phone number helps Upfrica confirm that sellers can be contacted about buyers, orders, delivery and account checks.

Add a number you actively use

  • Select the correct country before entering your number.
  • Use a mobile or WhatsApp number you check regularly.
  • Check every digit before saving.
  • Use a number that belongs to you or your authorised business.

Choose how the number will be used

Your saved number may be used for one or more purposes:

  • Shop contact: communication related to your shop.
  • WhatsApp: seller support and permitted buyer contact.
  • Delivery: order and fulfilment communication.
  • Primary: your main account contact number.

How verification works

Depending on your market and account type, verification may be completed automatically or reviewed manually by Upfrica.

Manual review may include confirming the number through WhatsApp or another approved contact method.

You can continue setting up your shop

A pending manual review should not normally stop you from completing the other seller setup steps.

After your number is verified

  • Keep the number active and available.
  • Replace it promptly if you stop using it.
  • Do not use another person’s number without permission.
  • Respond professionally when Upfrica contacts you.
Important

Phone verification confirms the contact number. It does not guarantee sales, listing approval or access to every seller feature.
