Upfrica lets sellers sell through an online Shop and, where Classified Ads are available in their market, post supported direct-sale listings for buyer enquiries. You can use either selling option, or both, depending on what you sell. For example, you may sell regular stock through your Upfrica Shop while also posting an eligible vehicle as a Classified Ad.

Sell a Product (Upfrica Shop)

  • Best for regular or repeat stock such as fashion, phones, electronics, groceries, beauty, home products, machinery and normal retail or wholesale inventory.
  • You create a seller account, set up Commerce, open your shop and add products with prices and stock.
  • Buyers place orders through Upfrica, and checkout and payment are used where they are supported in your market.
  • You manage orders, then arrange fulfilment or delivery.
  • A shop is required for this way of selling.

Post a Classified Ad

  • Available only where Classified Ads are enabled in your market, and only for the categories supported there. Where available today this is vehicles, such as cars, motorcycles, vans and minibuses, and trucks and commercial vehicles.
  • You create a seller account, create the Classified Ad and publish it. No shop is required for the ad itself.
  • Interested buyers contact you directly.
  • You and the buyer arrange inspection, payment and handover according to the current policy.
  • Classified Ads do not cover every item or category. Available categories depend on your market.

Which one should I choose?

  • Selling stock you restock and sell again and again: use Sell a Product.
  • Advertising one specific item, such as a used car, for direct enquiries: use Post a Classified Ad where it is available.
  • Many sellers use both: an Upfrica Shop for regular stock and Classified Ads for one-off eligible items.
  • The item type alone does not always decide it. Brand-new motorcycles sold as repeat stock with quantity and variants can stay in Commerce; a single specific vehicle advertised for direct enquiry fits Classifieds.
  • If Classified Ads are not available in your market, use Sell a Product and open a shop.

What buyers expect either way

  • The product or vehicle must actually be available.
  • The description must match the item being sold.
  • The price and delivery or handover information must be accurate.
  • Messages should receive a helpful and respectful response.
