Add clear product photos

Take and upload clear product photos that accurately show buyers the item, its condition and everything included.

Product photos are one of the strongest trust signals in a listing. Buyers should be able to recognise the product and understand its condition before contacting you.

Prepare the product

  • Clean the product before taking photos.
  • Arrange all included accessories beside the main item.
  • Remove unrelated objects from the background.
  • Use a plain background that helps the product stand out.

Use suitable lighting

  • Use bright natural light or soft indoor lighting.
  • Avoid dark rooms and heavy shadows.
  • Avoid reflections that hide screens, labels or finishes.
  • Check that small text and important details are readable.

Take useful angles

  • Show the front, back and sides.
  • Show labels, ports, controls, model numbers and important features.
  • Show the packaging and included accessories.
  • Show scratches, dents, cracks or missing parts clearly.

Choose the main photo

  • Use the clearest complete view as the first photo.
  • Make sure the item is centred and not cropped incorrectly.
  • Avoid using a close-up detail as the main image.
  • Do not use an image of a different model, colour or condition.

Uploading photos

  • Add a product title before uploading whenever possible.
  • Upload at least two photos.
  • Wait for each upload to finish.
  • Remove blurred, duplicated or unrelated images.

Quick checklist

  • The entire product is visible
  • At least two photos are included
  • The first image is suitable as the main image
  • Different useful angles are shown
  • Accessories are shown
  • Damage or defects are shown honestly
  • Images match the exact product
Good practice

For used products, original photos of the actual item usually build more buyer trust than catalogue images.

Important

Do not use edited images to hide damage, copied photos without permission, or images that show a different product.
