Pickup can reduce delivery cost, but the arrangement must be clear, safe and suitable for the product.
Before confirming pickup
- Confirm the product is reserved and available.
- Agree the location and collection time.
- Explain accepted payment arrangements.
- Provide a business or public pickup point where possible.
At collection
- Allow the buyer to check the item where appropriate.
- Confirm the product matches the order.
- Record the handover through the order process.
- Provide proof of payment or receipt where applicable.
Protect personal safety
- Avoid isolated meeting places.
- Do not disclose unnecessary private information.
- Use staffed pickup locations for high-value items where possible.
Important
Never pressure a buyer to meet in an unsafe location or to carry large amounts of cash.
